A
well known society in Ballater through its Art Exhibition at the Victoria
Hall in Late August,
and following an invitation from the Estate, we have an annual exhibition
at
the Stables in Balmoral from April to July.
The Society offers demonstrations through the winter, and workshops in the
summer.

Talks and Demonstrations Talks and demonstrations
are held in the Aboyne Bowling Club, Admission includes tea/coffee Members- £1 Non-members- £2 Friday 17th
October 2pm Mr Mellard has a studio in Aberdeen and, when not working there, goes all around the country giving demonstrations and workshops. If any of you have ever wondered how it is all done - come and see...........! Friday 21st
November 2pm Kate says she is
'drawn by the lines of life and landscape'. Sounds intriguing......!

March 2pm This talk by Jane was postponed last year. Always popular, we are delighted to welcome her back to show us pictures and drawings of her travels. Friday 17th
April 2pm Rosemary is a free-lance
artist and tutor who has won a number of scholarships and awards. She
runs regular workshop days in Aberdeen and has been teaching for public
bodies, and privately, for 15 years. Rosemary brings an extensive knowledge
of drawing and painting to all the classes she tutors, working mainly
in watercolour and other water-based media. Rosemary will suggest art
materials to bring to the workshop the following day. Saturday Workshops Workshops are open
to members only. All workshops are held in the Aboyne Bowling Club. They start at 9.30am for 10am and finish at 4pm. Workshops all cost £17.50 each. Please make your
own arrangements for lunch. There is a kitchen available for making
hot drinks.
A printing press is available for etching and allied techniques and is located in the Art Department at Aboyne Academy. Andrew Manwell has arranged a programme of sessions and workshops for anyone who may be interested in experiencing the many techniques that can be achieved using the available equipment.
