An Exhibition commemorating the 150th Anniversary (2nd October) of the birth in Ballater
of Professor Sir Patrick Geddes (1854-1932).

Examining the life and the contemporary relevance of the thought and work of this famous town planner,
educator, arts advocate, environmentalist, biologist.

The Exhibition features literature, explanatory panels and video,
and specially written contributions on the
Relevance of Geddes to the modern day.

Sculptor Gavin Smith works on installing plaques on 12 larch posts he carved to follow on a walk from the Old Royal Station to Ballater School. The Plaques feature art by Ballater School Children and Geddes information.

A completed post - the Walkway complements the Exhibition but will remain permanently. (The Exhibition will tour and ultimately end up back in Ballater). Click for larger image
