Fergus Purdie fergus@fwp-architect.com   Fergus Purdie, architect and urbanist. Outcomes in relation to Geddesian ideas and values include - recent exhibition 'Generalism Enacted II' - the practice ethos belongs firmly to the Scottish tradition established by Sir Patrick Geddes in terms of principles, approaches and working methods. In doing so the work seeks to interpret the interface between practice, research and teaching. The outcome - an evolutionary process redefining our professional identity within contemporary practice.
Teaching and researching at the University of Dundee including a campus development strategy based on a Geddesian approach to urban planning - i.e. participation.

Duncan Timms dwgt1@tiscali.co.uk   We currently live in Craufurd, Lasswade which we understand was lived in by Patrick Geddes in the late 1890's. The major part of the original house was demolished in the mid-1960s and replaced by a modern house designed by a local architect, Norman Hunter. The grounds, however, appear to be much as they would have been at the beginning of the twentieth century.
My acquaitance with Patrick Geddes' work dates back half a century and coincides with my academic interests in urban sociology.
